Review of a treatise in French by Kate Brosseau in which she discusses three groups of white Americans regarding education for African Americans: 1) those who advocate only the most rudimentary education, 2) those who advocate vocational education, and 3) those who believe that “the talented few” should be allowed to develop intellectually and morally in order “to lift the benighted masses up towards their own high level.”
