Words to eight anti-slavery songs, such as “Remember the Slave!,” “Rescue the Slave,” and “And the Days of Thy Mourning Shall Be Ended.” Words to “The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave” have been altered to accommodate an anti-slavery theme. For example, the first verse is as follows. “My country that nobly could dare/ The sword of oppression to brave:/ Can’st thou, of all nations, still bear/ To be the dark land of the slave?”
