2. The Colored American Magazine 9 (September 1905): 467-530.

Whole issue of “a monthly illustrated magazine devoted to the interests of the Colored Race.” The magazine is illustrated with photographs and displays advertisements in the front and back. This issue contains an article by Adella Hunt Logan advocating suffrage for woman. “If white women, with all their natural and acquired advantages, need the ballot, that right protective of all other rights; if Anglo Saxons have been helped by it—and they have—how much more do black Americans, male and female, need the strong defense of a vote to help secure their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?”
