Speech defining the responsibilities of the free states in regard to slavery. “I lay down the fundamental proposition, that the right of the free States in relation to the institution of slavery, is to be entirely exempt from all participation in its support, in it s expense, or in its guilt.” The pamphlet also includes a series of resolutions regarding slavery that were debated in the New Hampshire House of Representatives on June 22, 1847.
