Law Firm of Gwin and Mounger

The law firm of Gwin and Mounger was founded in Greenwood, Leflore County, Mississippi, in 1901, by Samuel L. Gwin and Edwin L. Mounger, fellow graduates of the University of Mississippi Law School; the partnership lasted until Mounger’s death in 1924. Though the firm dealt primarily with local business, insurance and real estate matters, it also took on divorce, inheritance, guardianship, and other cases.

Biography/History:

John R. Warner, Jr., was born in Topeka, Kansas, in 1936. He received his bachelor’s degree from Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas, in 1958. Warner and his wife, Judy, had a son, Peter Michael (b. ca. 1962). Warner attended seminary at Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sacred Theology in 1962.

Tracy Sugarman

Tracy Sugarman, son of David and Golda Sophian Sugarman, was born on November 14, 1921, in Syracuse, New York. Sugarman graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts and pursued a career as a graphic artist. Tracy Sugarman married June Feldman on September 24, 1943. The Sugarmans had two children: Richard Steven and Laurie Ellen.
