Letters (typewritten copies) written from France by Fulton Thompson, of Jackson, Mississippi, who served as a first lieutenant in the 130th Field Artillery, A. E. F. Seven of the letters were written to his father, R. H. Thompson, Jackson, and one to R. H. Thompson, Jr., Lexington, Virginia.

List (typewritten) of names of members of Company C. Eleventh Regiment of Mississippi Infantry, CSA, compiled in August, 1946 by Mr. J. M. Thomas, Sr. This volume contains 23 pages.

Tributes and eulogies given at a memorial service on March 30, 1903, for Samuel H. Terral, a member of the Supreme Court of Mississippi, who died on March 20, 1903. The eulogies are by T. A. McWillie, Robert Lowry, J. A. P. Campbell, the Supreme Court (signed by A. H. Whitfield, S. S. Calhoon, and J. H. Price), and the Bar of the Supreme Court (signed by J. A. P. Campbell).

Photostats of three letters written by Zachary Taylor from Mississippi on Apr. 20, Sept. 18, and Dec. 15, 1820, to Brigadier General Thomas S. Jesup, Quartermaster General of the United States Army, and typewritten copies of two letters written by Taylor from Monterey, Mexico, on May 9 and Nov. 16, 1847, to Thomas W. Ringgold, Rodney, Miss. The three Jesup letters were printed in Holman Hamilton (ed.), "Zachary Taylor" in Journal of Mississippi History, III (Apr. 1941), 130–139.

Letters and papers of Mrs. Obedience Yates, wife of Ignatius Yates of Utica, and of Alexander B. Swanson and his wife, Maria Yates Swanson. Swanson, a naturalized Scotsman, was a school teacher and later a lawyer in Raymond. He served in the State Troops as a judge advocate, and afterwards went to Vicksburg where he apparently was a cotton agent for the Union Army.

Copy of World War II diary written by Sergeant Glenn W. Alford who experienced the events of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. The diary covers the period from December 7, 1941, to January 4, 1942. Also included in the collection are poems pertaining to the war and life in the army.
